The Hemlock grows to a height of 6′ in about 8 years. It grows best in moist soils and full sunlight. The Hemlock will not grow well in dry areas. The primary use is replanting for speciality ornamental purposes.
The needles of a Hemlock are approximately 3/4″ in length. The needles are flat and soft to the touch. The color of a Hemlock varies slightly from tree to tree but is best described as being light green.
